Predictions for the best three games of the 4 P.M. slate | NFL Week 5
Here are my predictions for the three best games of the afternoon Sunday NFL week five slate.
Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals | 4:05 P.M. | CIN -3
The Bengals have had a horrible start to the season after coming in with very high expectations. QB Joe Burrow hasn’t looked like his normal self yet this season as he is still getting back to 100% after being injured.
Burrow hasn’t looked as mobile as normal and hasn’t been able to connect with his elite wide receivers Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins.
QB Josh Dobbs has been impressive so far this season. The Cardinals did get blown out by the 49ers last week but beat the Cowboys in week three.
The Bengals will be without Higgins in this game. This will be a get-right game for the Bengals and Burrow will look more comfortable and put on a show alongside Chase.
Prediction: Bengals 27, Cardinals 17
Kansas City Cheifs at Minnesota Vikings | 4:25 P.M. | KC -3.5
The Chiefs are coming off of a season in which they won the Super Bowl, but they haven’t looked like that this season.
The Chiefs were held to 17 points two weeks ago against the Jaguars and last week only beat the New York Jets 23-20. Zach Wilson played his best game as an NFL quarterback on Monday and Mahomes played one of his worst.
Mahomes threw two interceptions while having 203 yards and one passing touchdown. Historically Mahomes hasn’t turned the ball over a ton but without an elite receiver (besides Travis Kelce at TE) he has struggled to find open players.
The Vikings won their first game of the season last week against the Panthers 21-13. The Viking’s offense hasn’t looked the same as last season as they have yet to establish an elite rushing attack.
Minnesota needs to win this game because if they fall to 1-4, their hopes of making the postseason will be very slim. But, they have a hungry Chiefs team coming to town that is looking to remind people that they are still an elite team after their previous poor performance.
Prediction: Chiefs 31, Vikings 24
Philadelphia Eagles at LA Rams | 4:05 P.M. | PHI -4
Although the Eagles are one of two 4-0 undefeated teams in the NFL this season, they continue to be disrespected.
Yes, they do not look like the team who won the NFC Championship in 2022 but it is still early. And to be undefeated with still a ton of room to improve is a great spot to be in for the Eagles.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense have yet to play their best football and today is the day we see the elite version of Hurts we saw last season.
The Rams have looked better than I expected up until this point so far and will get their star receiver Cooper Kupp back today.
One of the biggest stories of this year’s NFL season has been rookie WR Puka Nacua. He has 39 catches for 501 yards through four games this season. He is third in yards and first in catches in the NFL.
Last week they beat the Colts in a close game but gave up 23 points and if their defense cannot contain the run game from Philadelphia they will be in trouble early.
Prediction: Eagles 31, Rams 21
